Devery Jacobs was born on the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory, in Quebec, Canada and given the name Kawennáhere [guh-wen-NUH-hé-ré] Devery Jacobs by her grandmother. Best known for her work as Lilith Bathory in Netflix’s The Order.
Jacobs performances in several projects has garnered her several nominations and wins. Her work in the feature film, The Sun at Midnight, brought her the 2016 Whistler FIlm Fest award for Best Performance in a Canadian Film and Best Actress at the 2017 American Indian Film Fest. Hollywood reporter named Jacobs one of Canada’s Rising Breakout Stars and Telefilm Canada honored her at the 2017 Birks Diamond Tribute celebrating women in film.
Behind the camera, Jacobs directed the short film Stolen, which won Best Aboriginal Film at the Yorkton Film Festival. Her second film Rae won Best Youth Work at ImagineNATIVE Film Festival.
